The Good Book

I was brought up in the Christian Faith - Church Choir, Sunday School, the lot. I lost my faith, such as it was, after my father died. Nothing happened for a number of years. Then, I was bought a one-year Bible as a Christmas present. I decided I would read it, if only to say that I had read the 'Good Book' all the way through, at least once. And I did. What a revelation! By the end of that twelve months, I had a faith again. But it was a very different belief from before; a real rebirth. I realised why the New Testament was called that: it put away childlike belief in the wrath of God and instead focused on the words of Jesus. And that's what I try to do today. and especially those wonderful parables that teach so much - and are as relevant today as they were 2,000 years ago!
